Szandra Iván

Fonogram winner singer, pianist, songwriter, studied on a scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She is a popular guest artist at exclusive events, festivals and concert series abroad and at home, thanks to her wide repertoire and exciting adventures across genres. As a composer and lyricist, her songs have been performed by stars such as Nikolas Takács, Tomi Veréb, Linda Király, Charlie and Roy Kohánszky. Szandra's unmistakable booming voice and delicate piano playing can be heard alongside such outstanding performers as Erika Miklósa, Andris Jász and Vera Tóth.

Szandra's concert programme, dreamed up with saxophonist Andris Jász, aims to bring the audience a new take on the deservedly popular American jazz hits, with a unique piano and saxophone arrangement, following a more popular jazz line. They evoke the New York hustle and bustle of the 1940s, and their crowd-favourite concert show features iconic songs from Budapest in the 1920s.

Its founder and creator is Szandra Iván, who has absorbed a wide variety of music by travelling the world. Her 8-piece band brings her creativity to the festival stage. The songs in Hungarian are unforgettable not only because of the lyrics and Szandr's charisma, but also because of the energetic vocals and hot brass instruments.
